being biblical and spiritual. are they the same? in my opinion,
spiritual: knowing that there's a supreme being up there, acknowledging it's existence, accepting it's presence.
biblical: keeping in nature in accordance of the bible. Philippians 1:10 says "so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ..."
no attacks to yoga fans. practising yoga is a a form of getting in touch and discipling with one's spiritual side. but that doesnt make one biblical right? at the same time, acknowledging God and knowing God is good. but being biblical proves how one is being a salt and light, whether inside or outside the church compound. hence, we can be spiritual but not biblical but we cannot be biblical without being spiritual. get it?
come on. get in touch with your spiritual side. admit, account and depend on God, not yourself anymore. mend the holes and start doing something about it.
i cant deny that i may give up in the future. but i will try my best to hold you for now. for as long as i can.
wants and needs.
i want this!!! i want that too!!! for temporal fullfillment. for momentary "yahoo!!" whats next?
the lifespan of wants is so short it shouldnt be counted at all. there's always a bigger want as we grow with age, with knowledge and with different surroundings and influences. but cant we see that wants just doesnt last? wants is certainly attractive and hard to resist isnt it?
i need this because i can use it. because... for long term usage. for a meaningful worthy cause.
we will still pursue these same needs many years from now till eons later. it's not as attractive, in fact i think sometimes we loathe to think about needs or even hunger for them as much as wants because it's constantly bothering us to get it asap to get rid of other troubles? but then how come we rather push aside our needs and pursue attractive wants then? simply because we dont look at the big picture.
same goes to temptation.
a temporary sustainer, short lived happiness and a severe shortcut. the feeling of giving in to temptation is easily forgotten. but the effects, let alone feelings after giving in is a different kind of agony. that is, if you know how bad it is in the first place.
why not look at the consequences of temptations before plunging in?
romans 5:20-21
But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
food for thought. conclusion. we need God. not miracles for last min prayers for exams. God shouldnt be the last on our list. He should be given first priority for everything. and not get so caught up wants. arent we too selfish at times? or everytime?
when you're sick, seek the doctor. when you dont want to fail your studies, study hard. when you're spiritually sick, seek God not men.
