secrets.
there's this particular episode on oprah which made me felt uneasy. marsha allen, a russian toddler was adopted by an american man; which is like obtaining a golden ticket out of the post communist country, and many would hope that they could live an american dream of having a house with white picket fences, loving parents and snacking on oreos dunked in frothy milk.
but that man she called daddy, turns out to be a paedophilia and a child pornographer. she was raped, made to perform oral sex, given threats if she ever tell, forced to pose in obscene positions for him to picture to exchange and sell online and she was starved so to delay puberty.
you can read everything here, after that man was caught, his blood daughter, in her late twenties, came forward and confessed that she too, suffered the same plight as marsha. out of fear, she kept this secret to herself. she felt guilty because if she had spoken up earlier, marsha could have avoided this unfortunate predicament. marsha is doing well now, thank God.
secrets that we keep, out of embarassment, out of fear, out of protection and some out of sheer fun (y'know those, i know who she fancy but i'm not gonna tell youuu~). anyway, a secret that is jian4 bu4 de2 guang1, that kind will slowly manifest itself in a way or another. in other words, it'll leak out sooner or later.
there are so many secrets that i keep within me. some which made me laugh. some made me sigh while some which i struggle to keep within (too juicy!) but on a serious note, there are some secrets which i rather forget.
God is omnipresent and omniscient. however far we try to run or conceal from people, we have to be accountable at the end of the day. what have you done to glorify His name? how's your life like? do you really love your neighbours and family members?
i confess. this tongue of mine is sharp and untamed. i speak faster than i think. many times i see the hurtful faces of my family members after i argued back made me feel slightly triumphant - they have nothing to say you see - how immature... maturity also shows in speech patterns. can i control it? can i hold it back? why not use it to encourage people instead.
being upfront is one thing. holding a tight rein over our tongue is another.
like my cl's nick. i pray for good job and a good boss. and livi, you're super blessed ^^
